Dieter Müller, born in the Black Forest in 1948, made a name for himself as the patron and head chef of the restaurant at Schlosshotel Lerbach, where he was the third German ever to be awarded three Michelin stars. He had previously cooked at the Schweizer Stuben, where he was awarded his first star in 1974 and his second in 1977. Between 2010 and 2019, he managed one of the restaurants on the cruise ship "Europa". In 1987, he was voted "Chef of the Year" by Gault-Millau.

Dieter Müller donated a collection of around 200 top gastronomy cookery books to the archive.
