Become a user of the SLUB

You have started your studies at the TU Dresden? You are new in Dresden? Here you will find printed and electronic specialist literature, individual workstations and group workstations as well as a wide range of learning and research support.

Your first steps

Registration

  • Only valid for TU Dresden students: You have a Campuscard? Register  quickly and easily with your TU login.
  • All others who are at least 14 years old will receive a SLUBCard. Please submit your personal data via the registration form. Your SLUBCard will then be issued to you in person at all locations.

Data check and ID

  • After your data has been automatically checked, you will be shown a six-digit registration ID. If you entered an e-mail address when registering, you will receive the ID by e-mail. Otherwise, please make a note of the ID.
  • The registration ID is important for identifying your data. It is valid for 90 days. If you forget the ID, you will not be able to change your details or fill in the form again using a combination of name and date of birth already in the system.

Picking up your SLUBCard

  • With your registration ID and your identity card or passport, you can have your SLUBCard issued free of charge in our libraries.
  • As an employee of the TU Dresden, please also present proof of your affiliation to the TU Dresden.
  • As a non-EU citizen:in you also need a certificate of registration or alternatively a signed declaration of surety.
  • If you are under 16 years of age, you must submit a consent form signed by a parent or guardian as well as a copy of the ID card/passport to register.
  • If you would like to register online only, please send us an e-mail with your six-digit registration ID and the scan of your identity card/passport.

 

Introductory courses

In order to introduce you to our house and to introduce you to the use of the library, we offer introductory courses tailored to your needs.

Service, media and information

The SLUB helps you to search in catalogues and databases so that you can always keep your bearings despite the flood of information. With the SLUBCard you have unlimited access to all services and media of our library.

Your SLUB account

With the number of your SLUBCard you automatically receive a personal SLUB account. There you can order or reserve media online, extend loan periods and manage your personal data.

Set up

The initial password for your SLUB account is your date of birth (DDMMYYY). Please then set up a personal password and PIN for yourself.

(B)locking the SLUB account

  • If you lose your SLUBCard, you can lock the card yourself in your SLUB account.

Your account will be blocked by us in the case of:

  • unpaid fees of more than €30.00 or older than three months
  • violation of the house rules and regulations
  • expired SLUBCard

Despite the blocking, you still have read access to your SLUB account. You can only use the self-service and lending functions again after the block has been lifted.

Loss of your SLUBCard

  • If you have lost your card or it has been stolen, please block your SLUB account immediately.
  • Notify us of the loss immediately by e-mail, telephone or in person at the service counters.
  • A new SLUBCard costs € 5.00 according to our scale of charges.
