Eiermann Collection
Lothar Eiermann, chef at the gourmet restaurant of the noble Wald- & Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe, donated speeches and correspondences from this period to the SLUB.
Like Wolfram Siebeck and Herbert Schönberner, Lothar Eiermann is an indispensable part of the German culinary miracle. Born in Stühlingen in Baden-Württemberg in 1945, he began his training as a chef in 1959. After successfully completing his apprenticeship and spending a short period of time in the training company, he went to Switzerland in 1963, worked in many different kitchen positions as well as restaurants, completed a degree in business administration, then went to Scotland and England. Only after 10 years, in 1973, did he return to the FRG as a chef and took over the head position in the gourmet restaurant of the noble Wald- & Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe.
The donation of Lothar Eiermann includes mainly documents relating to his professional career in the gourmet restaurant of the Wald- & Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe, for example press reports, speeches and correspondence.
