Help with Data Exporting
Can I export hits in the SLUB catalogue to a literature management programme?
Yes, the export formats RIS (Research Information System Format), BIB and ENW (Endnote Tagged Format) are available for selection in the detailed display under the menu item "Literature Management".
How do I export the data?
Currently, each title must be exported individually, no list can be generated. Call up the desired title in the detailed view.
If you work with Citavi or Zotero, you can use the corresponding browser add-ins or bookmarklets for data export, such as the Citavi Picker or the Zotero Connector . Alternatively, you can choose an export format. In the preview you can already see which information will be exported:
RIS format
BIB format
ENW format
Click on "Download Citation" to save the title locally or open it immediately with a literature management programme of your choice.
If the programme you are using is not listed, browse through your applications and select the appropriate one.
Finally, please compare the imported data with the original entry in the catalogue and add/correct if necessary.
Which format is suitable for which literature management programme?
RIS (*.ris) is the common exchange format and is supported by almost all programmes, including Citavi, Mendeley or Zotero. EN (*.enw) was developed explicitly for the Endnote programme. If you work with Endnote, choose this. BibTeX (*.bib) can also be "translated" and imported by almost any literature management programme. When you later write a publication with LaTeX, the BibTeX format is needed again - as a file with the appropriately prepared bibliographic data needed for citation.
These formats are used for data exchange between catalogues, databases, websites, etc. and literature management programmes. They provide the bibliographic or metadata of a publication, such as author, title, publisher, year and place of publication.
