Untold - How wars shape generations

A literature series organised by the Dresden Municipal Libraries, the Saxon State and University Library Dresden (SLUB) and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Saxony

How does a changed world order after a war influence our biographies? How do children of war and post-war children deal with inherited wounds that are often hidden stories? How do war traumas, fears and uprooting affect subsequent generations? And what impact do frozen conflicts have on their own lives?

On four evenings with four high-calibre authors, the literature series "Untold - How wars shape generations" sheds light on the after-effects of wars for the next generation and thus also reveals the liberating power of literature, which can overcome silence. It follows on from the event series "Voices from Eastern Europe: How wars change biographies" from 2022.

A literature series organised by Dresden Municipal Libraries, Saxon State and University Library Dresden (SLUB) and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Sachsen. The opening event with Nino Haratischwili takes place in cooperation with the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra, the Erich Kästner House for Literature and the Saxon State Centre for Political Education.
