Career and education
We lead knowledge - and are looking for fellow knowers!
We hold knowledge in every form - traditional and contemporary: from the Codex Dresdensis of the Maya to original manuscripts of Martin Luther to the latest dissertations in all fields of science, from manuscripts of Johann Sebastian Bach's music to design photos of the 1920s to the most modern three-dimensional map programmes. We share knowledge and connect people: in training courses, our SLUBlog, discussion series, talk concerts and the Long Night of Science! And because knowledge comes from making, we expand our stock of several million media every day not only in the classic library way, but also in our TextLab and the SLUB Makerspace.
If you want to know more and perhaps even want to become a co-knowledgeable person, we will be happy to fill in the gaps in your knowledge! You can find information about volunteering, training, voluntary work and internships at the SLUB here under the respective links, other interesting information and current job advertisements here:
Did you know ...
... what the SLUB has to offer as an employer?... what happens behind the scenes?
... why we like working at the SLUB so much?... what jobs are currently advertised at our institution?
... that we have our own IT department?
... that all the pictures on our careers page, unless they show current staff members, come from the collection of the Deutsche Fotothek, which is located at the SLUB?
