With the Library of Things, we are expanding our service for students, scientists and citizen scientists. Whether you are a genealogist, hobby beekeeper or historian, we will support you in your day-to-day studies, training and research with useful equipment and accessories for your projects and also help you build up knowledge with non-textual knowledge transfer. Do you need a drawing template for sketches, a calculator for your exam or a microscope for biological observations? You can borrow everything you need from us.

As an inclusive library, we also offer supportive work equipment that helps with accessibility: for example, the OrCam (a camera that reads out texts and recognises and reports obstacles in the room) or digital magnifying glasses.

• All objects in our Library of Things are listed in the SLUB catalogue. Simply search for "Library of Things" and select "Objects" as the media type. You will also find an overview on the subpages for direct browsing.
• You will need a valid SLUBCard or Campuscard to borrow items.
• All items can be borrowed for 7 days and can be renewed once.
• Items can always be borrowed and returned via the service desk.
• When borrowing items, please always check that they are complete.
• Items must always be returned to the branch where they were borrowed.
• Items are returned to the service desk subject to reservation; we will then check that they are functioning and complete.
• The user is liable for any damage or loss.
• Fees will be charged for overdue loans in accordance with the schedule of fees and charges.
